How to save time & money

Before reporting any repair please check that the following doesn't apply:

•  No hot water (gas system)? Check the pilot light hasn't gone out first. If the pilot light is out, just re-ignite it. Should you not be able to ignite the pilot light and a tradesman is required to do so, you will be responsible for the account unless another fault is responsible for the problem.

•  No power at all? Check your neighbours. It may be that there is a disruption in supply which Energy Australia should be alerted to.

•  No power for appliances but the lights still work? You may have a faulty appliance in the house which is tripping a circuit breaker. Complete a process of elimination by turning all appliances off and resetting the circuit breaker. Then turn on one appliance at a time until a particular appliance is found to cause the ‘trip'.
